The New Orleans Chapter of the Federal Bar Association is excited to announce that its Last Chance CLE: "Your Case Has Been Transferred" will be held on December 7, 2011, from 2:00 to 4:15 p.m., in Courtroom C501 of the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana. The program will consist one (1) Professionalism hour and one (1) Ethics hour.
For the first hour, the Hon. Nannette Jolivette Brown and the Hon. Jane Triche Milazzo, both recently confirmed to the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, will address issues such as helping new judges marshal existing cases through to resolution or trial, effectively dealing with very short scheduling deadlines and trial date, and use of status conferences to assist in informing the Court of the history of the case. Then, for the second hour, Dane S. Ciolino, the Alvin Christovich Distinguished Professor of Law at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, will address ethical issues that arise for lawyers in transferred cases, and other recent ethics issues of note.
For FBA members, the cost is $30/hour or $50 for the whole program. For non-FBA members, the cost is $60/hour or $100 for the whole program. You can register by emailing Camille Zeller at the Attorney Conference Center at fbano@bellsouth.net or calling 504.589.7990.
